Upgrade equipment ourselves?

We have been a Directv customer for 27 years and have upgraded our equipment over the years.  We installed everything from the very beginning and over the years, we've been shipped new equipment and sent back the old.  Can we still do that without having a tech do it?

Doubtful. What are you upgrading from? What models do you currently have? Why do you want to upgrade?

Because of significant changes, most upgrades require a tech. Depends how current and capable your current setup is if a box could be swapped yourself or not.

What are the models of each box you have now? Are you changing number of TVs? And why are you looking to upgarde? The latest and "greatest" might not be better than your exising setup. Depending on your needs and current capability, newer could be about the same or functionaly a downgrade.
