If you mean equipment, that will be a 24 month service agreement resulting in a early cancellation fee (ECF) valued at $20 for each month you had left.
However, if you mean raising your package up for a week and then lowering it back down, that prorates your bill.
As a note, if you cancel your entire account, your final month is not prorated. You are still considered to have DirecTV for that entire service month.
Sorry. I meant upgrade my programming not my equipment. I want to try the Choice package, but if I don't like it, I would cancel immediately. Will I be charged for a full month?

Yes and there will also be the the ECF/ETF of $480 if you are canceling DTV satellite service as upgrades start a new 2 yr contact.

What do you mean by "upgrade"?
