Curious I have had the same equipment for some time now. I have heard you can request updated equipment if you equipment is over two years old. Is these any truth to this?

world changes everyday. wanted to be sure OP was aware. I just noticed 2 wks ago that DTV has their own website separate from AT&T after I click on DTV in my AT&T website account. I was aware of the sale, just you never know when & how much of separation happens.

AT&T sold off 30% of DTV and the new partner has moved everything back to them and is running the day to day operations.

That 24 month agreement is not going away anytime soon. Fair enough wanting OP to be aware.
DirecTV has always had their own website. AT&T tried to integrate them soon after the merger, something that did not go well. And then when the new co-owner stepped in (2021) they ended up fully separated them again. Site wasn't fully shut down during that time, just annoying redirects depending what you were doing. So management is taken over by the new co-owner.
AT&T bit off more than it could chew with DirecTV. Hoping a lot of stabilization occurs with the new co-owner. But as that started in 2021, seems we should be seeing the dust settle by now.
