Using C61k-700 for Tailgating

I have an HS17-500 Genie system with a C61K-700 receiver. Will this receiver work as a stand alone for tailgating?

.The C61K isn't a receiver, its a client for a server and won't work on its own

No, all minis require the server (the genie )to operate they don't work on their own since there's no tuner.

This is one of the reasons the Genie-2 (HS17) is not recommended as it only allows Clients, not receivers, on the account. Clients cannot work by themselves as they have no tuners to receive the service.

The regular Genie line (HR34, HR44, HR54) allows full receivers, including HDDVRs which have 2 tuners and 500GB recording space each. So do not have the hard cap of 7 tuners of the HS17 and they can work independently as needed.
