Want to take out genie mini and put main bix to tv where mini was. Att said tech must come out and charge. Why cant i just switch it??

The HR54 Genie or HS17 Genie2 maybe powering the system so whatever coax it is connected to it must be connected to the red power pass through port on the SWM splitter.
