Where do programs downloaded to my smartphone live?
Hello. I downloaded a program from my DirecTV box to the DirecTV app on my phone today, but I can't seem to find any evidence of an associated file on my phone. I notice a directory called com.directv.dvrscheduler but it seems to be empty. I own a Galaxy Note 9. Can you please tell me where the downloaded file resides? Thanks. Chris E.

AFAIK there is a bug in the new app that is not allowing programs to be downloaded.

Myself, I don't have any problem downloading shows and watching them offline.
To go a little further into my story, my issue is that the DirecTV app will randomly delete all of the shows stored in my phone, so that the "My Downloads" area all of a sudden shows nothing but the message "You don't have any downloaded programs in your downloads list."
And sometimes I've deleted those shows from my DirecTV receiver and my phone is the only place they're stored, which means I just lose those shows forever.
So I'd like to find out where the downloaded content lives in the phone's hard drive so that I can research this issue further.

I downloaded a show sometime over a last couple of days and saw that the "Data" value in my DirecTV app setting changed from 39.72 MB to 443 MB. But when I connect my phone to Windows and do a search for anything 300MB or larger, it only returns larger videos that I filmed with the camera, nothing DirecTV related. Where is the file?

The recordings on the phone are not transferable. They have it designed to specifically block being access from your computer. I suspect this makes the files hidden so you can't even see their existance outside of the intended app access.

The app only stores programs for 30 days then they are deleted.
