whole home dvr + on demand

How much can I expect to pay for a whole home DVR and On Demand hookup? I currently have 1 HD DVR (HR 23), 1 SD DVR (R16)  1 HD Reciever (H21) and 1 SD (D12)reciever.  As i understand, only the HD DVR and HD box will be able to work with this.

That's correct.  It's $99 + $49 installation.  Order the Cinema Connection Kit for your On Demand internet access at the same time and ask if they'll provide it for free.

Ok new question.  I did confirm that pricing as you explained.  It seems I may be able to procure the equipment on my own for less than that. If I am not mistaken, I will need 2 DECAs 1 Broadband DECA, 1 Band stop filter for my D12 a 2 way SWM splitter for the room with my Broadband in it, and a green Label SWM-8 to replace my white label one that I have currently ( The home was originally wired for 5 outlets if you are wondering why I have an SWM-8).  2 questions that I have regarding this...It seems I would need to email them to have the service enabled vs calling.  Also, if one of my DECAs were to fail down the line would my protection plan cover it?  I know that may be asking a bit, but I guess you could say I would get some personal satisfaction of doing the job myself and probably save in the neighborhood of 60 bucks.  Any thoughts?

While you might save some upfront money, DirecTV won't support you unless they install it.  So no, they won't replace your DECAs under the protection plan.  Proceed at your own risk.

I don't believe you could purchase all of the material for $148 especially if toy need a new SWM8. Of course, maybe you're referring the a 8 way splitter and not a multiswitch?  Not to be discounted, many do it yourselfers don't have the equipment or the expertise to make up quality compression fittings.

I was actually able to find it for less..I was surprised too.....and believe me I wouldn't need any compression fittings which is good because I know that's one of the things I'm not so good at.

If you're determined to install htis yourself, here is a schematic of a typical installation.  You're already aware that a band stop filter is required on each SD receiver.
