WiFi Bridge

Does one wireless Genie Mini require a wifi bridge to work?  Or will the wireless mini work on its own?  I don't need the bridge to connect more than this one genie.

Yes all wireless minis need a WVB (Wireless Video Bridge) to work.

Wireless Mini Genie Clients (C41W and C61W) need a Wireless Video Bridge (WVB) to function. This is installed on the coax and serves as the antenna to bridge the Clients to the main Genie. It is an owned accessory that is $99 (each). You can have multiple if needed, but does not change how many total Clients the Genie can use.

The Genie-2 (HS17) is the only model with the WVB built-in. Though you can use an external WVB if you need more coverage in home.

Since the WVB is put on the coax anyway, it is not suggested to get just a single wireless Client as you have something wired in the first place. The exception of course would be if the wireless Client goes into a place that is just too much hassle to run the coax to. Wired is more reliable anyway.
