Will a mini Genie work on a tv in our garage
We want to put a small tv in my husbands workshop in the garage. Our Genie is in the family room so the signal would have to go through several walls. Is it likely to work?

download wifi sweetspots onto your cell in the app store for both apple and android, run the app and walk into your garage it will show you the wifi signal strength in your garage

But that has nothing to do with what the WVB signal will be in the garage, the WVB range is about 80' in free air If you can run coax to the garage and use a wired mini or closer to it you can add another WVB,

@shannon02 it will give them an idea of WiFi strength if the outer won’t go the distance and through the walls the wVB certainly won’t reach. If there’s a really strong signal then there’s a chance it will reach. That’s how I confirm mine would work out in the backyard in my hot tub gazebo

A wireless Client to the WVB has up to 80 foot range under ideal conditions. Several walls will degrade that.
I would consider going wired in that situation. Preferably with a actual HDDVR if you have a free upgrade. Remember your Genie can only use 3 Clients max at one time and each steals capability from it. But if you have the unique Genie-2 (HS17) then you are only allowed Clients.
Whether you go Client (wired or wireless), HD non-DVR, or HDDVR, you are adding a 24 month agreement and $7 to the monthly bill for the additional TV. If you don't already have a WVB and go that route, that is also a one-time $99 for the owned accessory.
