winegard travler hook up to directv

I am a current Directv customer and am asking what it takes to get local tv in our motorhome with the Winegard travler system. The RV dish will stop at the right position when compared to our home dish so it works correctly.

You can't as locals are on spot beams and once outside of it you will not get any locals, you need an OTA antenna connected to the TV.

Winegard Trav'ler will work as long as you get the DirecTV specific version of course. To be sure properly compatible, what are the models of each box you have?

As for local TV, you will not get that in the RV through DirecTV. Locals are based on your physical service address, so they are "spot-beamed" to an area. Once you travel outside that area, you use a regular antenna on your TV to get whatever locals are within range.
