Wiring New Home Construction for DirecTv

I will be having a new home built shortly. Planning on continuing DirectV services. Is ther a guide on how to have a NEW home wired for DirecTv?

Run RG6 coax to any room with a TV from a central location.

RG6 coax, preferably solid copper core, to each location you plan to have a TV. Longest suggested cable run is up to 125 feet. If a longer run is needed, then consider RG11 instead.

No matter what kind of boxes you will be getting (or relocating as sounds like a move), consider placement. Avoid enclosed cabinets, have no other items on top of them (or vice versa), and out of direct sunlight. Want clear ventilation and avoid other overheating threats.

Also with updated safety regulations, if the receiving dish goes onto the roof then it must be reachable from a ladder. The techs are not allowed to leave the ladder so they can stay in compliance with OSHA.

Before you call DirecTV for the Movers order you should get some additional guidance from other experienced customer before possibly getting an overzealous agent.

What are the models of each box do you have now?

Are you changing the total number of TVs?

Anything about your current setup you have an issue with or looking to change?

The Movers order itself will have a 12 month service agreement. If you also do an upgrade of equipment (adding another TV counts), then it would be 24 months instead. Whatever you decide, make sure to read the order confirmation they send to ensure all is as expected before the install is done and you are locked in.
