Gemini Air

I just got my brand new Gemini Air to beta test.  So far so good, The only issue that I had was it did not want to install the first time and needed a restart.  The whole setup process took about 45 mins.  I really see no difference between the Gemini/Osprey Box and the Gemini Air other than the picture quality is slightly better and the wifi speeds to the device are better.  So far so good hopefully no major issue arise.  Just putting this out in case anyone might have any questions about it.

USB-C ethernet adapter didn't work with Gemini Air. Oh well. Maybe in the future.

Well, I tested to see if you could use the USB port to power the Gemini Air, and it didn't work just got this message on my tv when I tried.

Curious, how long is the cord on the power supply?

Experienced my first hiccup with the Gemini Air this morning.  It dropped the Wi-Fi connection and would not reconnect.  I reset the router..nothing.  I redid the credentials on the Gemini Air..nothing.  I had to physically unplug the Gemini Air power supply, and then start it again.  Only then did the Wi-Fi reconnect.

Other than that, it seems to change channels faster than the Osprey.  I haven't compared picture quality between the two devices yet, because I want to do it on the same TV.

@JAL123 Thanks for posting that in case anyone else encounters the same problem. It is good to hear that you were able to find the solution so that it could reconnect to your WiFi.

Most standard USB outlets should be able to supply that much current. What were you using with the USB cable? And some USB cables use very small wire that can drop the voltage, so a different cable might work.

What I used to test was my Samsung Galaxy Phone charge cord since it had the same input and output specs as the Air's AC power supply.  What I think might be the issue is the USB outlet itself on my tv may not be powerful enough to power the Air.  When I plug in my phone to the same USB port it says slow charge.  So I have no clue as I know the USB port powers my Roku Stick.  But oh well I was just experimenting as I know there would be someone out there that would not want the power cord showing.  But for me, it is not really a big deal as my power cords hang behind my TV stand out of sight anyway.

@JAL123  Yah, I actually think the Gemini air is less "laggy" than the Osprey. Very smooth. Also, ff/rewind is more accurate when you stop it.  I have the Osprey and Air on the same tv. Gemini Air picture seems to be just a bit sharper. Not much difference.

Exactly. Your TV's USB jack doesn't provide enough power.

My tv USB says "HDD 5V 1A" --powers a Firestick fine. Not sure if it would power the Gemini Air.

It might. But it seems that the power supply provided with the Gemini Air outputs 1.5A. That's a bit more than your TV's USB port.
