AT&T screen savers on Directv

I HATE all the AT*T screen savers that automatically appear every time you hit the pause button on

Directv. Message to the bonehead who's behind it: The ads make me LESS LIKELY to buy something from AT+T, not more.

Cut them out!!!

The only way to remove them is to disconnect the receiver from the internet and lose On Demand and start from the beginning and paying for PPV with the remote.

Well AT&T saw an opportunity to use to market other programming so they decided to use it. As I don't sit there staring at a pause screen it really makes no difference to me. My only critique is that they either give an option to adjust the delay before the screen saver hits or at the very least back the built-in time.

Highly doubtful they will remove them. So you can disconnect your setup from the internet so that it would revert back to the logo screen saver (except for what you recorded while it was connected), but lose access to On Demand and ordering PPVs by the remote control.

None of us like this but we don't make the decisions.

This is AT&T forcing its way into our living rooms without permission. It's an invasion of privacy.

It's not just other program promos, they're advertising everything they make. Their ads begin popping up just 30 seconds after you press Pause. It should be unlawful! It's typical of AT&T ruining a company like DirecTV. I've been around for awhile and I've seen them do it to other businesses they've bought. Quite a talent.

Advertisements are not an "invasion of privacy". They are not snooping in your house, watching over your shoulder, etc. So your privacy is not affected. You watch TV, not the other way around.

Sure many people don't like advertisements in general, but that is something media outlets have to deal with otherwise they must just straight up raise costs that much more.

You subscribe to the service so you give them permission.
