Cancelled service 11/2021 and was still having money taken out of bank account for two years!

Has anyone had this happen!?!?!?

I cancelled my service 11/2021 and was shipped the box to send the equipment back (which I did). We moved from the residence we were receiving DIRECT at. I could not continue my service at our new residence because I couldn't afford it. All my bills are directly paid from my bank account. This weekend, I just happened to come across a Directv bill sent to my SPAM folder. When I logged into my account, I found that I have been paying monthly 130.00-140.00!! When I called them, they said they can not do anything but give me a credit for two months. This is insane! Unfortunately because there has been so much time passed, I no longer have the cancellation email. They cancelled my account again but there really isn't an email for cancellation, only to send the equipment back (which I no longer even have!). Here I am, barely making ends meet with two kids in my house and Directv is stealing my money. We don't even have TV now in the new house because I cant afford it!

The bill wouldn't show exact model. You have DVR service as long as one box is a DVR model.

If DirecTV shipped you a box then that is the old process. Their system would have a copy of the tracking numbers (FedEx to you and then USPS back to them). As long as you sent by USPS and not UPS (happens on occasion), then they should be back verified by tracking.

Also return kit would not be sent for active boxes. That may have been the tipping point in your favor as would show either account was reactivated later with no call from you, or the agent deactivated individual boxes instead of canceling the account correctly.

As of right now when I called, they say there is no equipment due. The emails I have gotten were triggered when they officially cancelled service this month. She said the final invoice will be sent on the 24th and if it shows anything with the device to contact them again. If it shows, I will just contact the person that issued me the refund and deal directly with her.
