DirectTV fraud (by direct TV)

overcharging for receivers  I had autopay and didn't get a itemized bill.  I discovered that they were charging me for 6 receivers for years instead of 5 that I actually had.   I had to go around my house with customer service on phone and pull all the access cards on the receivers for the 5 receivers I have.   I asked to be credited for the time they overcharged but gave me credit of $4.20 for 1 partial month instead of the two years they overcharged  ($168.00)   Should I just switch to Dish or give up?

I swear I hear this all the time.. “well I’m on autopay so I don’t get a bill.” YES YOU DO STILL GET A BILL! I assume you have paperless billing, right? SO LOOK AT YOUR BILL IN YOUR EMAIL EVERY MONTH! Do you really think a company is going to give you a credit for TWO YEARS of over charges? That’s ridiculous! Even if the company made an error and did not remove that receiver, YOU STILL COULD HAVE REALIZED IT, AND A LOT SOONER THAN TWO YEARS LATER?!?!

Auto bill pay does not stop you from receiving a bill.

Even if you are set on paperless billing, that just means you get your bill notice to your email and can look through your bill in detail online.

Going 2 years where you didn't look over a bill, or even called to discuss your service to understand what you have, is all on you. Like other companies, DirecTV expects to be notified about a billing issue in a reasonable time. That is why they have a 60 day dispute policy.

Sorry but letting it go 2 years is way too long.
