If I eliminate Fox News from my favorites does Direct v get the message that I dont want Fox news or would it be better to contact Direct tV and tell them I do not approve of Fox News

That favorites list is for personal use. It does not get sent to DirecTV. There is not an option to opt out of a channel or send an official notice of disapproval. They make the decisions on what channels to negotiate a carriage agreement with.

The only DirecTV package that does not have Fox News is Family. So the only way to hard remove the channel is lower to Family or go without pay TV.

If you don't like fox news then look into changing your channel lineup by choosing a different package as they have 4 different channel packages and maybe they will have one without it for you and if they all should have it then just don't put it on the fox news channel problem solved!

DTV has no clue what channels are in your favorites list or what channels you watch, while anonymous data on your viewing habits is collected nobody knows where it came from.

And it’s pointless to tell Directv you don’t approve of Fox News. Just don’t watch it and if you feel that strongly, switch to a programming package that doesn’t include it.

If I could find a pacakage that did not include Fox News and was not the Family package I would.  Do you know of any?  I am an active senior that does not approve of a news stations that perpetuates lies, bigotry and inflamitory statemnts that divide our country.

@lynnauchipcom If you don’t like the channel, just change it and do not watch it.  That’s what a substantial portion of the country does to avoid the disinformation and divisive propaganda CNN, ABC, NBC spreads.  Also, I encourage you to watch it sometimes to see what the opposite side says… it’s good to broaden your horizons.  I personally detest CNN but occasionally check in to see what lies they are spreading.
