Monthly programing price?
I have been with DTV since 1999. I am now to the point of terminating my service. My monthly bill does not include any movie or sports channels. DTV has offered me a $30. discount for the coming year. I would then be billed $160. monthly. The fee includes two tv's with recording option. Any recommendations????

Networks have increased their costs over the years. So yes there is a big difference when comparing to 1999.
You may not have any premium channels (HBO, Starz, etc.), but you should have sports channels as those are in most packages. Only Family and Select have no sports channels at all.
I would review the channels you do watch to see if a lower costing package would be a better fit. You are lucky to get the $30 discount as those are mostly pulled back. Plan for regular cost as discounts are supposed to be temporary and infrequent, not a way to make service affordable.
