price increase even though I have a contract
If I were to cancel my subscription and go with spectrum TV they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee. The remaining months yet they increased my bill by $5.00 this month. I have a contract till June 2021. They just do what they want. I think it is time to start looking elsewhere.

Your contract also states prices and channels are subject to change you should read it

A contract does not lock in a price or guarantee programming.

My point is, if they can change a price with only a months notice why can I not cancel with out a penalty. Seems the customer gets the bad deal. Regardless of what the small print is. What is the use of a contract if it is one sided.

Because you signed and agreed to it that’s why.

A service agreement is not a price lock. All TV providers have a clause that the programming and pricing are subject to change at any time. The service agreement is you stay with DirecTV for so long for whatever promotion you got (discount, new equipment, etc.). It is not a guarantee on base cost.
They don't own the channels. And those channel owners increase their costs over the years which is why we see the annual price adjustment. Other providers go through similar.
