Regional sports fee

 You have to lower your channel package to below choice to remove the fee. Even if you block all the sport channels you will still pay the fee

Unfortunately, that’s the luck of the draw. Some watch sports and others don’t. If you subscribe to the ENTERTAINMENT package then you don’t need to worry about the regional sports fee. 

However, there is no way to avoid it. Most if not all cable/satellite/streaming services have it to carry RSNs, etc.

You don't pay based on what you watch, but what you have.

Packages Choice and above include the Regional Sport Networks for where you live. The RSN fee is pretty standard, but most providers hide it in other costs. DirecTV several years ago decided to itemize it so you know what your local teams are costing you.

The only way to get rid of the RSN fee is to change your package to Family, Select, entertainment, or if still available Preferred Xtra. Those are the only packages without RSNs.

Sports is big in our country and so the costs gets passed on to others regardless if they watch it or not.
