Return box for closed account (Edited as per community guidelines)
I need to return the box for above account but accidentally deleted information you sent on how to do so. Also, I was unable to print the barcode as it doesn't show on the paperwork in the email.

This is a public forum of other customers. Remove personal info and be prepared for an increase of scams as you gave private info to the entire world.
There is no barcode to print. Here is the correct return process:
If over 10 miles away from a participating location, then you call DirecTV to use the old process of shipping you a return kit (not barcode in email or label only).
What are the models of boxes you have? Perhaps they are not returnable as there has been equipment changes in the last couple years.

I live 70 miles from the return sites, Fedex and UPS. I was lied to twice on the chat with them and promised the return container and labels. Tonight I receive the second letter saying I will be charged the $200. I logged in and I chatted again with them, and I was told I ( a 75 year old man) will have to drive the 70 miles to the return site, while folks are dying if the coronavirus!!! They have a web site, but twice the order for the boxes were cancelled.

Unfortunately quality of the "chat" agents has been low recently as they are not very knowledgeable and have limited access compared to normal customer care. If your box truly is returnable and you've checked the online lookup tools and there is not a shipping center within 10 miles, then call DirecTV to request the return kit.
What are the models of boxes just to be sure?
They don't change the rules for age. And I understand it is different for everybody, but my grandfather in his 70s was sill making the drive between New York and winter place in Florida, as well as Texas to see family. Though at least the '77 Lincoln Continental was finally retired from cross-country driving by that point and just kept for local drives.
