return of direct tv equipment
I called to cancel my direct tv service effective 2/18/21. I was told I would get an email or letter to advise what and how to return equipment. I have not received any information. My account # [EDITED] Please advise. Thank you.

What are your receivers model numbers? Returnable receivers are taken to a UPS/FedEx store to be scanned in and keep the receipt.

Hey there @kncbissonnette ! :)
Take in mind that if the account was cancelled effective on February 18th, then you should receive that e-mail from AT&T regarding your receiver information, within 24 hours of the cancellation date.
This also applies to the time period you dispose before getting non-return charges. If the cancellation is effective on that day, February 18th 2021, then you should be able to return the receivers within 20 days from that date.
You can either request a recovery kit to be sent to your address by calling directly to 800.288.2020, or drop your receivers at your nearest UPS or FedEx office. That process has no cost, and also make sure they give you a receipt for it.
Hope this helps!

No, you can onlyy get a recovery kit if you are too far from the nearest UPS/Fedex office.
How To Return The Equipment
Go to a FedEx or UPS location with your account #. No need to bring a box or label, the equipment will be boxed it up & shipped out at no charge. The process takes less than 5 minutes.
Find FedEx Office locations at www.fedex.com/attreturns.
Find The UPS Store locations at www.theupsstore.com/locations.

You only call DirecTV to request a prepaid return kit (the old method) if you are over 10 miles away from a participating FedEx/The UPS Store location. First and foremost they want customers to use the simple drop off option.
