Rewards card expired

My reward card expired by  1 week and I  honestly didn't think it could expire because of the law about gift cards but they told me it's not a gift card so they can do what they want . I got the run around by 2 people and the 2nd person only tried to sell me more products to "try" to get another reward card .  I switched my cell phone service to Sprint and will be switching my cable too because I'm not dealing with a company that has no regard for their customers in the middle of a pandemic when people have bigger things on their mind than an expiration date on a card .

You work for AT&T so I'm not surprised you'd say that

Their rewards card had an expiration date on it which you were unaware of, or plain ignored, because of your own assumptions? Sorry but the harsh reality is that an expiration date listed for a card or other such promotion is not a suggestion. Though Covid makes tough times for most, it does not mean that rules and personal responsibility are thrown out the window.

Likely the agents giving you the "run around" were trying to find an option to placate you instead of simply being the bearer of bad news. Companies want their agents to focus on what can be done, not tell them no or what cannot be done.

And what do you expect to happen when you try and tell Sprint, or any other company, the rules don't apply to you? Sure the pandemic is a huge issue right now, but blaming a company for your own mistake is not the way to go.
