There is no "you".  This is a customer populated message board.  No one here can access your account or make changes.  You need to call Customer Service.

contract expiration does not cancel services you just go month to month. you must call to cancel and the final month is not prorated ,  follow the instructions below to return the equipment

you need to drop it off with a participating fedex or ups store,(not all are participating) make sure you have your account number and get a tracking number ,they will pack and ship it at no charge to you below are links to find a participating center, if you are more than 10 miles from a participating center then call and inform them your more than ten miles from a participating location and they will send boxes and labels.

www.fedex.com/attreturns or www.theupsstore.com/locations.

Apparently you don't know how a service agreement and your account works.

The service agreement (contract) being expired doesn't mean they shut off your service. What it means is if you cancel service while still under agreement, then you would have paid an early cancelation fee (ECF) for the remaining time. It is up to you to call DirecTV and setup your cancellation when you are done. This is just like most other companies in the United States.

As a note, like many companies, you will pay for the entire service month regardless of how many days into it you are. They went to flat monthly billing a couple years ago and so no longer prorate on the final bill.

So bottom line it is your responsibility to call DirecTV if you want to cancel.

What are the models of each box you have? If any of them are returnable, here is the process to use (after account is canceled).

How To Return The Equipment

Go to a FedEx or UPS location with your account #. No need to bring a box or label, the equipment will be boxed it up & shipped out at no charge. The process takes less than 5 minutes.

This is not the first time over the years I have seen someone who expects their service shuts off if they don't renew it. Is this mentality of those that come from a prepaid cell service, or is this something that is done in other countries? Otherwise what non-prepaid company works that way here?
