First off, try the red reset button on either the front of the receiver where it says PRESS or the right side of the receiver. If that does nothing, check the power supply you are using and test it on another DIRECTV receiver to see if that is defective. If not, try the secondary box in another room to test for power. If the box still doesn't turn on, call DIRECTV at the number in my greeting below to request a replacement receiver.

What is the model of your satellite (not cable) box?
You say it will not reset. Do you mean by the red button?
Have you tried unplugging from power for a minute?
Issues with any other boxes?
Did something happen before the issue started?
