Direct TV tech never showed 5 days in a row
We secured a new contract and installation with Direct TV recently. Our tech was suppose to show July 27th. No show, no call, nothing!!! I had to call and check status throughout this time to be told we are still schedule, only to be cancelled once our window closed. Someone lied the first time and said they contacted us for reschedule which is a lie and they put it on the records. Over the next 4 days, we were rescheduled over and over after waiting all days. This is unbelievable, unprofessional, and down right disrespectful. Who is going to take off work for all these days without pay!?!?!? I will be cancelling our installation today Aug 3rd 2021!!! This is ridiculous!!!!!

Unfortunately they are short staffed on techs because of the pandemic. As the world tries to return to normal, people requesting work done is increasing faster then they are able to keep up. People applying, getting hired on, and then training/shadowing is not going as fast.
If you want to cancel over this, that is up to you. But posting that here will do nothing. You must call to cancel the order as this is a just a public forum.
Whether you cancel or not, with several missed/rescheduled appointments, I would consider a BBB/FCC complaint. That notifies the corporate level.

First off, I am well aware of the casualties streaming from the pandemic! Many have suffered my family included tremendous! Business is business! I too run a business as well, if I can not service my clients due to lack of personnel, I am forth coming, and transparent. I don’t schedule people or book my services if they can not be provided. Okay stuff happens, I am well aware as I have had Direct TV in the past for years. Also, leaving my office or taking time to be home when someone else is getting paid to provide a promised service to me and not show up for 5 days in a row is poor service, with NO communication. I lose time and my money sitting waiting. This platform is for issues like these so they can be addressed as well as all the other platforms available to which I have also contact. Accountability is everything!

In the end, they must focus on their bottom line to survive. So if it is better for them to have full appointments instead of lots of open times with techs doing nothing but waiting to see if they need to cover down, then that is what they must do.
I do agree that communication needs to be better. At least let people know when a reschedule is needed instead of getting no notice at all. That would help everyone's time. Though if possible, schedule for a day you already have off so you don't lose office time.
That wouldn't be the case as this is a public customer to customer forum, not official support. So it is not for getting issues like this addressed. For that you call or file a BBB/FCC complaint. This platform is for other customers discussing with each other and perhaps providing guidance, but in no way can we address your issue of missed appointments.
