Directv dish removal from roof

My condo HOA is going to fine me because my Directv dish was installed by Directv on the roof 9 years ago.  Can Directv move the dish to side of my home? Or must I hire someone else to remove the dish from the roof?

DIRECTV won’t touch the dish as it becomes your property after installation.

Yes, you can hire a local handyman to remove the dish. You may also make a listing on Facebook Marketplace for a free satellite dish. In the description tell buyers that if they remove the dish from your roof that you will allow them to keep it free of charge. This way, the dish doesn’t go to waste.

OTARD grants you the right to have a satellite dish in areas under your exclusive control like a patio/balcony and also states that landlords/HOAs can't put excessive control over placement causing more payment from a standard install.   DTV will install a new dish wherever there is LOS with a dish relocate order for $50.  As stated you will own both dishes so can remove the roof dish yourself or have someone else remove it. You should leave the mounting plate attached to the the roof to prevent leaks.

This is why I dislike HOAs with a passion. It is your home, your TV.

Anyone who spends all day staring at your roof and is offended by a TV recieving device (satellite dish, antenna, etc.) needs to get a life and to quit trying to think they control anyone they deem a lesser individual.

You can call DirecTV to have the dish relocated. If the dish is accessible from a ladder they will remove the dish leaving the base plate so your roof is not disturbed. If the base plates also need to be removed you would need to have someone else do that. If the dish is not accessible from the ladder they may not be able to remove it.

My original DirecTV dish was installed at the peak of my roof (2-story house).  My neighbor who works for DTV rerouted the wires and installed a new dish on top of my shed a few years ago when I was having issues with service (a sensor had worn out after 5-6 years).  The one still sits atop my roof but it doesn't bother me, nor do I have an HOA to worry about.  Oddly enough, when DTV originally installed the dish up there, I had two Dish Network satellites on the other side of my roof, and they asked if they could take them off (sure!)  Scrap metal maybe?  After I cancelled my DTV service last year, I asked my neighbor about the dish & he took it down for me (mounting bracket is still there) but at others have said, DTV doesn't come and take it away once you cancel your service.
