Does Direct TV reinstall a dish that had to be removed?
My dish had to be removed to allow for some carpentry work. Do you reinstall?

Yes. Call DirecTV and they can schedule a dish reinstallation. I think the cost is either $49 or $99. I don't remember.

$49 would be dish relocation, $99 is for a new dish.
As a note, techs will only install it where it is reachable from the ladder. They cannot step onto the roof, mount on chimney, etc. per the current OSHA regulations. Mentioning just in case as a lot of roof work questions had a much older install before the OSHA update.

It would be &49.00 + tax (if applicable) for a dish relocation , payable upfront at the time of order which includes the dish since they actually don't " relocate" the existing dish + at least $75.00 for a pole mount if needed ( payable to the tech onsite)
$99.00 is a service call which doesn't get anything installed

@nabukl it's not charged upfront. It's billed to you, unless there is custom work that needs to be done. That's not paid to directv its paid to the tech since they are normally 3rd party contractors.

@Tired_of_technology , the relocation IS charged upfront it can be billed to the account under certain circumstances (like excellent payment history, longevity of account, etc.) Actually the"charge" doesn't get applied to the bill until the work order is closed by the tech. So it will zero out on the bill if the customer paid upfront. Custom installations and mounts are always payable to the tech since only a tech or dispatcher can add the line items to the work order.
The customer won't see any charges until their next bill after the work order is closed

@nabukl ace doesn't mean you're correct. Sorry not sorry. I worked for directv/att for 15 years. Just retired as a sup in January 2022. ACE does not mean you have the most up to date information.

@nabukl okay. And it's billed to them unless they're on a cash only account. Just assuming someone who just had work done to their roof probably isn't on a cash only account

Careful about assumptions. Roof work sometimes has to be done, anyway you can manage it, regardless of reasons to be "cash only".
Is that 15 years DirecTV or came over from the AT&T side?

I know that Custom charges are paid to the tech onsite, that's what I stated.

@Tired_of_technology
My forum account covers both DirecTV and AT&T as existed before they split DirecTV into a separate forum with the new co-owner. As a customer I participate in both.
