Genie HR24/200 compatible mini
I have a Genie HR24/200 that still works great. But my Genie Mini C41-100 has died. What other Genie Mini receivers are compatible with the HR24/200. I would like to purchase one.

Simplest option would be calling DirecTV for a warranty replacement. That is $19.95 delivery or covered if you pay monthly for the equipment protection plan.
Genie models are HR34, HR44, HR54 (or revised HR54R1). An HR24 is the last regular (non-Genie) HDDVR.
At this time all models of Mini Genie Clients work with all models of Genie, Genie Lite (H44), and Genie-2 (HS17). Though careful as C41W and C61W are wireless requiring a Wireless Video Bridge (WVB) and C61K is the only 4K model requiring a specific setup and tech install.
All "Genie" types are lease only, never having a purchase to own option. DirecTV switched to a lease model discontinuing owned options upon launch of the original Genie. As such, any on eBay were supposed to be returned or recycled (if too old a model) or worse are actually stolen. This means DirecTV will not activate them.
As a note, regular HDDVRs (i.e., HR24) are compatible with the regular Genie line. They provide 2 tuners, 500GB recording space, and don't go down if there is an issue with the Genie since they are a dedicated receiver. No difference in monthly cost. Normally I would suggest using your next free upgrade to swap a client for one to get more bang for your buck. But AT&T was pushing for a client-only setup making it harder to get our hands on regular HDDVRs, which also haven't been made in years.
It is my hope that the new co-owner refocuses the equipment direction to give flexibility back to the customer instead of the restrictive setup that AT&T was trying to force on us.

The HR24 is not a Genie so recheck the model number, all C models will work with a Genie. You can't purchase minis or Genies as they are leased only and the price you pay is the upfront lease fee unless you have a free upgrade coming.

My mistake. The sticker on the bottom says HR54/200. That's my main DVR/Receiver. The Genie Mini in my master bedroom is a Genie Mini C41-100. That's the unit that has died. I see these for sale a lot on Amazon and eBay. Are you saying that I could not buy one and have it activated?

The upfront lease fee for a mini is $99. Ebay has been known to sell stolen and or still leased receivers and DTV will not activate them.

Thanks everyone for your prompt replies and excellent information. I'm on the phone with Directv. They are going to replace my C41 Genie client for $19.95. They are allowing me to do a self installation, so there will be no service call charge.
