H25 Genie Receiver in RV

Directv sent us an H25 Genie Receiver for our RV which is an extension of our home directv. We were trying to stay away from a wine guard dish setup and we’re looking at the slimline dish setup! Is this HD and compatible with the H25 receiver. We’ve spent multiple hours on the phone with directv with no answers or resolution to the problem. Thank you!

The H25 is not a Genie.  You need a SWM slimline dish on a sled/tripod mount with a power inserter.  Solid Signal is one place that sells SWM dish kits.  Yes it is HD.

First of all the H25 is not a Genie or Mini Genie Client. It is an HD non-DVR receiver. It is the only non-Genie model to be SWM-only like the Genies, so cannot use the older multiswitch.

You must have a slimline SWM dish on a tripod/sled mount or the Winegard Trav'ler. One place to check is Solid Signal.

Remember any other options, like the old domes, are HD only for other providers (like Dish). The fine print will say DirecTV is SD-only (MPEG-2) so cannot be used. Unfortunately sellers are not very clear on this, assumedly because they are clearing stock until the MPEG-2 shutdown is complete.
