No. A SWM LNB dish is required for the HR44 receiver. Otherwise, if you are using a legacy non-SWM system or other older dish, the SWM8, SWM16, or other SWM multi switch to transfer the dish to SWM. But, I’ve heard the HR44 has locked out older SD only dishes like the 18x20 or 18 inch.
Unfortunately, that’s your issue. A power inserter is required as it gives power to the SWM LNB. You can get them for ~ $10 on Amazon, eBay, Solid Signal, etc.
Hopefully you haven't left yet so you can grab the power inserter. Be aware, anyone at home cannot use any Mini Genie Clients as they cannot work without the main box.
Dedicated receivers (HR24 or H25, and earlier models) can work without the Genie. Usually suggested to take one of these with you if you have them for ease of use. Unless the HR44 is the only box you have of course, or want the 5 tuners for travel.
Side note: Once out of your home's spot beam you lose access to locals. You would instead need to use a traditional TV antenna to pick up whatever locals are within range while you travel.

@giantsric
Look at the LNB on the front and attach a picture. Or you can send a picture of the dish itself with the LNB.

You already have a SWM-compatible dish LNB. It should work fine with your HR44.

Where did you get that HR44?
Was it replacing a box or adding additional?
If replacing, what is the model of the box you were swapping it for?
What are the models of your other boxes?
Was this exact box tech installed allready?
Any issues on any other boxes?

Do you have a SWM Power Inserter to power the dish LNB?
What exactly are you trying to do?
Where did you get the HR44?
