Looking for a Genie 2 review. Is it slow?
I’m considering getting the Genie 2 so I can get my dish off the roof and remove a lot of messy wiring outside. I’ve read some reviews and see that this unit has some delays when changing channels, etc. A friend of mine is also experiencing this. Anyone have any info they’d like to share?

Perhaps faster, but restrictive with less capability. My Genie and 2 HDDVRs has 9 tuners and independent reliability that the Genie-2 does not have. Like a lot of people, the Genie-2 would be a downgrade for me.
Though you mention you got DIRECTV STREAM earlier this year. Did you switch back to satellite or paying for both? Curious as almost seems conflicting.
In any case you are trying to tell someone from almost a year ago to move forward with a decision they most likely made months ago.

Good Lord I’m not trying to debate which one is better the guy asked if the genie two was slow and I was just giving in my opinion.

Yes he asked back in October 2021. Just seems to be a bit late to weigh in on such a dated question.

I didn’t look at the date, I just got some notice that there was a response on a thread I had commented on. Regardless you guys can have a (Edited per community guidelines) contest with each other on which one you think is better. I’m out!

You shouldn't have gotten notice on this thread as you hadn't commented on it before today. Either you got a notice for a different thread and jumped into this one by mistake or if that notice was for this thread it would have been an error.
The Genie-2 (HS17) can be better for some. But for many, including myself personally, it is an actual downgrade of capability. There is no contest as you are looking for. It depends on the individual user's current setup and needs on which way is better. I personally am in the group where it is a downgrade by the actual capability (less tuners and no independent settings). For others like yourself, though it may be restrictive on options if the increased peformance is more important for you then fair enough.
Stop looking for a fight where there is none. We each gave our perspective which is valid The final point is please check the date before posting so can be sure if the conversation is still current or not.
