Need a DirecTV Receiver but all DirecTV.com sites redirect to ATT Wireless\

Hi.  The DirecTV / ATT Merger has been a nightmare.  It is now impossible to do anything at all with my DirecTV account.  I need to get a new DirecTV receiver because I recently got a 4k Television.  Whenever I go to ANY DirecTV Page, I get redirected to ATT Wireless.  I do not have ATT Wireless.  I do not wish to start up an ATT Wireless account.  I do not wish to have any services with ATT.  I only wish to have a new DirecTV Receiver/Genie sent out to my location to use with my new television.

I can't stress this enough.  The entire DirecTV / ATT Web Site debacle is an absolute night mare.  The current 'chat' assistance says the wait is over 600 minutes.  I do not need any ATT Services, but all DirecTV pages force redirect me to ATT.  I only need to click a button for a new receiver.  That is all.

You have to have an HR54 Genie or an HS17 Genie2 and a C61K mini to get and use the the 4K channels.

Yes. I have to call customer service. Which will take untold hours. I much prefer to either chat. OR JUST CLICK A BUTTON THAT SAYS ADD GENIE TO CART. Obviously that simple request is not possible with the level of service available from ATT. My biggest regret. I’ve signed up for the football Sunday pass. So I can’t cancel this terrible company until February.

Genies require a SWM system that not all people have so DTV requires a tech to install it.

Again. Absolutely awful service. can’t even offer 4K or 8k service out of the box. I’ll definitely be much happier when I’m not chained to this organization.

The HR54 was to far into production when the 4K requirements where change to a 2.0 HDMI port so they made the C61K mini then went with the HS17 Genie 2 that is not connected to any TV so it doesn't have output ports.

Yes, the acquisition of DirecTV by AT&T was rough. Now a new co-owner has taken over managing DirecTV. We are once again in a transition period. Hopefully the new co-owner is better able to focus on the DirecTV service than AT&T was.

There is no 4K receiver. There is only a 4K Client which requires a specific Genie or Genie-2 setup. As such it is not a drop ship option but requires a tech install.

What are the models of each box you have currently? Are you adding a TV or just upgrading for the number of TVs already on your service? Best to get some guidance before you make the call.

4K service is still new and limited so it is not "out of the box" as requires a specific setup. And there is no DirecTV 8K service at all as channels aren't in that resolution yet, so 4K is the absolute highest DirecTV goes at the moment.

There are few if any OTA broadcast channels using 4K let alone 8K so they are not sending DTV any 4K signal.
