No Auto tune ?!
A super simple feature that the Genie cannot seem to do.. Sillyness .. 1st World problem but why not have this feature ? I am accidentally watching freaking ice-skating on a Sunday when it should’ve auto tuned to another football game! Now my Daughter wants to watch Ice Skating !! You ever tried changing the channel away from a 3 yr old girl !! Now I’m stuck watching IceSkating !!

DirecTV has never had Autotune on any of their DVRs. This did not start with the Genie but has been their system design going back 20 or so years to their first DVRs.
Only non-DVR models have Autotune. As long as you have a regular Genie (HR34, HR44, HR54 or revised HR54R1) then you can have HD non-DVRs (H21 thru H25) on your other TVs, so that you can mix and match what works for you. They still can watch what is recorded on the Genie itself. However, if you have the Genie-2 (HS17), then you are restricted to Clients only which limits your features further.
Bottom line, no DirecTV DVR has Autotune and never has.
You may think it is a super simple feature, but it is a different perspective when one is actually designing and building the technology as opposed to just the TV watcher at home.

Sooo, I have to watch Ice Skating then ? Ok.. Dang . I really wanted to watch Football.
