Recommended setup to watch programming on 8 active TVs simultaneously without any conflicts?
I'm scheduled for install on May 24, 2021 to include 1 4K TV. The VIP Loyalty Dept assured me I would be okay with this proposed install:
Genie HR54
1 4K Genie Mini (C61W/or latest model)
6 Genie Mini Clients (Latest model)
The DTV rep was very nice but to be honest, I'm not sure if this setup will work. What combination of equipment should I have requested? Thanks!

The Clients (when in use) Watching live TV --They take a tuner away from the HR54 . Can cause a recording conflict
I suggest you only have on client the C61K-700 for 4K Recording and viewing --DUMP all the other clients and replace them with a combine of HR24 or H24's --If COST is no problem --Clients & H24's are $99(one Time) lease fee and $7 a month --HR24's are $199 (one time)lease fee and $7 month .
The HR54 has 7 Tuners --5 for recording and 2 for 4K recording
the HR24's are 2 Tuners
Clients have NO tuners

That won't work because as JefferMC posted the HR54 will only support 3 active clients. The Directv rep was WRONG!!
If you get an HS17 Genie you can have up to 7 active clients (up to 2 of them can be 4K clients). The HS17 does not connect to a TV so that gives you 7 TVs not 8.
If you really want 8 TVs that's a special configuration with an HR54, three clients and then four regular receivers or DVRs.

I believe that I read that the HR54 can only handle 3 active clients simultaneously (I'm assuming that's in addition to the screen connected directly). That means 4 will be dark.

Update - So I spoke w/ another DTV Rep and changed the order to the following setup:
HR54
1 4K Client
2 Genie Mini Clients
4 Regular Receivers (H25)
That should do it, correct?
Thanks!

That will work.
But if it were me I would have an HR24 instead of at least one of the H25s. Depends how much recording you are going to do.

TexasBrit, thanks for the info. With at least one HR24, that will give us access to recorded programming if all clients are on, correct?

You will have recordings on the HR54 and any HR24s you have. They will be accessible from the clients, from the HR54 and any HR24s or H25s. But there will be limits on how many of the H25s will be able to access recordings depending on how many "whole home" streams you have active at a time. And because the H25s do not have disk storage, if you set up a recording from an H25 it will use a tuner on the HR54 or an HR24. If you expect rooms to set up many recordings, you ideally want an HR24 in each room not an H25. Everything depends on what will be your recording and viewing habits.

Update...
All, thanks for the recommendations. They have been extremely helpful! Decided to go with the following:
HR54
1 4K Client
2 Genie Mini Clients
3 Regular Receivers (H25)
1 HD-DVR
Again, thanks!

Remember the 4K Client is C61K. The C61W is the newest wireless Client which is not 4K.
The H25 is the most recent HD non-DVR, but possible to get H24 if any are still in stock as they cannot guarantee model number. (HR54 and C61K are guaranteed only because they are needed for a 4K setup as that is the only regular Genie and Client models that support it).
HDDVR should be HR24 as to my understanding they no longer have HR23 in stock.
Glad to see you didn't get more than 3 Clients. So all TVs potentially can be in use at one time. Only a couple channels in 4K (plus a few PPVs) as that is still new of course.

The HR54 (3rd generation Genie) is a full receiver, so the TV it is connected to is not a Client so doesn't count against that limit.
The regular Genie line can use up to 3 Clients (Mini Genie or RVU TV) at one time using 3 of the 5 tuners. The remaining 2 stay to the Genie, such as for the Picture in Picture (PiP) feature that only the Genie can use.
Your chosen setup is decent. I would only consider down the road using a free upgrade to replace a Client or HD non-DVR with an HDDVR so you get more bang for your buck, plus more reliability.
Genie can pair with more Clients then can be used at the same time, but since you still pay for the authorized TVs and there is no difference in monthly cost from a full receiver, this is not suggested.
Even if you had multiple 4K Clients, only a single TV can use a 4K channel at a time. Tech and programming are in the early days so has a lot of limitations for 4K.
Stay away from the Genie-2 (HS17) as that would be a downgrade to your starting setup. It may boast 7 tuners and a 2TB hard drive, but only allows Clients. So overall tuners is less than you have, plus forces all TVs to run off one box instead of dedicated receivers having their own personal options.
