This is happening on both live TV (rewind) and recorded programs on both of our receivers.

Fast forward not working on NON on demand recordings for yesterday and today’s recordings! Will need to watch my show on HULU to avoid commercials. Why am I even paying for DVR service that doesn’t work properly. No CHAT available so will have to spend my evening on the phone with a script reading tech that cannot solve the issue.

Starting yesterday, I can no longer rewind , pause, or fast forward on local channels only.  Other channels like the 200's work ok. Called support last night, and they said they would look into it. No problem number or tracking info!!

I am having the same issue. Please fix this. I am now recording local channels using an antenna until this is fixed. If this does not get resolved soon I will be looking for an alternate to directv.

Hello, @schirmyver.  We'll be happy to take a closer look into your DVR functions not working properly.

So that we can better assist you, please verify the type of AT&T service that you have. Do you subscribe to Directv, AT&T TV, or AT&T Now?

This is Directv.

As noted from others it only affects local stations. Basically FF and RW do not function on local stations. When I hit either the FF or RW button the screen shows it is trying to FF or RW, but the video freezes. Repeated presses of the button indicate on the screen by going from 1x to 2x to 4x but again nothing happens. When I hit play it just resumes where it was.

Interesting is that if I press and hold either FF or RW I do get the skip to the 15 minute marks.

Again FF and RW work just fine on non-local stations such as USA.

I've got two receivers and they both act like they are recording shows, but when I try to play them, they only show a freeze frame and ask if I want to delete the recording.  I can't get them to playback the content.  I've re-booted them both, power cycled the SWM adapter.  They show current content and can change channels, and acts like it is recording.  But playback will not work.  The DVR has plenty of space on it.

Situation resolved in Chicago. Local channels are rewinding and fast forwarding as they should.

That was really quick. Someone must have accidentally leaned on a switch last night.

Too bad last nights’ recordings weren’t fixed in the process. We will need to take the full two hours to watch Big Sky tonight.

Just for no apparent reason we can not fast forward on our recordings from NBC channel 5... Have they interrupted fast forwarding so we must watch all commercial???

Not any problem with any other channels recordings.

Based on other similar posts, it is apparently a software bug. Hopefully they are working on a fix.

No, it won't fix older programs, only ones recorded since the "fix".

Just FYI. The problem was with the guide metadata associated with just the Chicago HD locals. Not a software issue with the DVR.

Faith, this has been fixed already. I am sorry but your reply shows you are not in touch with what is going on.

This happened again on two programs I taped this morning on CW 26. Hot Bench (don't judge :)

Other local channels appear to be OK.

From a legal perspective, I understand why advertisers do not want their commercials skipped, but to require content not to be skipped makes tv viewer enjoyment barely better than the eighties when live tv was the only game in town.

That's up to the channel.  The directv on demand comes from them and typically has the same rules as the channel's own on demand servers online.
