Will a dish upgrade require new wiring?
I am upgrading to a new dish and genie receiver because my old receiver no longer works. Will the new dish use my existing wiring from outside the house? I am not adding any new receivers, just upgrading to replace the old box that no longer works.

Sounds like you may have the older multi switch. So with dish upgrade and Genie that would be an update to the SWM setup. So there may be some wiring updates.
What model was your old box and dish?

Also depending on how old the cable is it may not be a bad idea to replace it. When I bought my rental the cable was 25 years old

My current equipment is Standard Receiver D12-100. I don't know what model number of the current dish but probably about the same age as the box.

The dish will be replaced with a Slimline Dish and a new down lead may be needed and will be run at the time the dish is replaced

The D12 is the last MPEG-2/SD-only non-DVR DirecTV made. The closest equivalent swap would be an H24 or H25. But last I heard, DirecTV's complimentary MPEG swap program would be for a Genie (i.e. HR44 or HR54). So getting a non-DVR might need to go the upgrade route instead.
A slimline SWM dish would be installed. And must be in a place that is reachable without stepping off the ladder. Mentioning as many earlier installs don't comply with current OSHA regulations.
