AppleTV App usability is lacking
I have been using DirecTV Stream for about 5 months. Like the service, but frustrated with the poor AppleTV integration. Someone as large as DirecTV should have the ability to map FF/REW keys to those functions so when using a home theater with a 3rd party remote it works properly. Not to mention typing in a channel number in the guide. (Same issues using the AppleTV remotes... )
Tried using the Gemini device but that won't integrate with my Harmony remotes due to the method the remote connects to the Gemini device. So that isn't even an option.
Many posts on the AppleTV app and this... But amazingly Ican't find solutions. Hoping, dreaming, I am missing them. But if not can DirecTV respond, there have been years of these comments.

Happy 4th! I share some of the same concerns. In my humble opinion, the Apple TV puts out superior picture and loads channels instantly almost all of the time. The Osprey boxes aren’t quite as good in the PQ department and intermittently lag when loading. The Gemini Air is slightly better but not up to par with the Apple TV. I agree, that the largest annoyance for me is not being able to tune by channel numbers via the Apple TV. I keep thinking about returning to satellite with the DIRECTV minis, but have stayed with stream because of the lack of per tv charges.
