DirectTV Stream and TiVo Streak 4K

Don’t ask us. We are customers just like you on a public forum. You’ll need to get in contact with DIRECTV STREAM and submit a ‘kind’ request to consider the TiVo platform in the future.

I have a Tivo Stream 4k and you can sideload the Directv Stream app. I use it for my bedroom. Works pretty well. Not as good as the Dtv Stream box, though.

Can you use the numbers on the TiVo remote to select channels?

No. Only the DirecTV Stream box and its remote allow direct selection of specific channel numbers. 

Before signing up for any service, make sure it will work on the platform you want it to. That will save you disappointment by informing yourself before the fact.

I will use the service regardless if it works on the TiVo Stream 4K.  Would just be easier as I prefer the TiVo interface.  Xfinity is eliminating CableCARD support so I have to find an alternative, and I'm not a big fan of Xfinity's cable service anymore.

@geekdoc Easiest way is to download and install the "downloader app" from google play store---use the browser feature in the app--it downloads and installs the app. The Directv stream apk is derived from the fire tv version of the app. Put this address into the "downloader" app's browser and it will download and install. https://aftv.news/796393

I use my tivo stream 4k in the bedroom. My main device is the Directv Stream box. So if you like more of a cable experience get that. Their box comes with a remote with numbers on it for channel changing. Remote also has shortcut buttons for the guide, dvr list, previous channel and record button. FF and rewind are also a lot easier to use. U can get a refurbished box off the Dtv stream website for 49.99 with 1 yr warranty. Their box also has google play store for your other apps.
