Gemini Box
I have several of the original Gemini boxes. None of them have received a security patch since June 2025. Has DIRECTV stopped updating the security patches? In comparison, my Gemini Air has a recent security patch.

We're still sending updates for Gemini boxes which run automatically, @JAL123. You can also check it by going to Settings > Device Preferences > System Update. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

Thank you. It shows there are no updates available when I check. That said, it is concerning that the security patch is 9 months old. Can you tell us what the current security patch is for the devices?

Yes, the current version should be 34.4.5.9509 or higher. Software updates, including security patches are released when they're necessary. John, DIRECTV Community Team

Actually. The current version for both the Air and Osprey box is 34.5.5.20

Well I guess that (actually) they did say "or higher" :)
If a box stays on a much older version, and you've done the normal reset/power cycle or update check through menu is it warranty replacement or can support force an update push to a specific box?

@Juniper OP is just talking about not getting a security patch since the June 2025 ...not about a regular software update. I've noticed that's how it goes. The Air updates security patches way before the box. Shouldn't be an issue though

Even with a security patch (as I do understand that is what the OP is concerned about), what does one do when it just keeps going without ever receiving it? And what would be the threshhold to consider it has been too long?

Thanks for the responses. I have the current DIRECTV version but not the security patch on the Gemini boxes. The Air has a more recent security patch. For those with the Gemini boxes, what security patch do you have?

@JAL123 My Gemini box has June 3025 security patch. The box security patch normally updates after the Genimi Air.

My Gemini Air has January 2026 security patch, the boxes are stuck in June of last year.

Certainly would be nice to know they aren't lagging in those patches of course.

@JAL123 My Air also has the January 2026. Like I said, the box security patch updates quite a while after the Air. My box also shows last June. The Air updated about around 2 months ago.

Juniper: no issues. I am just not pleased having devices on my network that have 9 month old security patches.
