UVERSE Customer Migrate To Directv
I have Uverse right now and when it renews, I will most likely switch to a streaming service. I've read the Directv conditions and it says current U-verse customers only get 20 hours unlimited DVR. Is that correct?
So...if I drop Uverse go to a competitive service like YTTV. Then decide to try Directv at a later date am I considered a NEW customer with unlimited DVR? I WILL be keeping my ATT internet throughout this process (if that matters).
Any idea how long in between dropping Uverse and going to Directv you have to wait?

U-Verse, DirecTV, and DIRECTV STREAM are 3 separate providers that besides sharing a parent owner, have nothing to do with each other. You are not "migrating" but would cancel one and go to another (or have both if you really want to).
So yes you would be a new customer to the service of your choice. DirecTV (satellite service) doesn't have cloud based DVR as is on their physical boxes. I believe you are talking about DIRECTV STREAM.

All you have to do is sign up for Directv Stream using a different email address, and you will be considered a "new" customer. After that, once you drop Uverse, call in to have the accounts "combined." You will still be billed separately, but you may be able to keep any bundled discount you had with Directv Sat. and Internet.
