Censorship by Woke DTV

I will cancel my Direct TV and AT&T Bundle ($266 per month) if they drop One America News. I would pay extra for them to drop CNN and MSNBC who specialize in demoncrat (Edited per community guidelines) and misinformation.  4 years of Russia Hoax. Daily spewing racist hatred and Demoncrat lies.

It's happening. You'll need to find an alternative.

Doesn't matter how much you pay. Choosing not to carry OANN is their choice, not censorship.

In any case your post does nothing for your account. You must actually call to cancel. And the world moves on.

@ProudPatriot AT&T / DIRECTV are hiding under plausibie deniability as a smoke screen to the truth.  Be sure to Read OANN complaint filed in California Supreme Court as well as letters from State and Government Officials posted on OANN website.

Note the decision came soon after President Joe Biden urged social media companies and news outlets to “deal with misinformation and disinformation” on their platforms.  I guess if one does not agree with the viewpoint, it’s misinformation and disinformation.

Note many of us are proud patriot customers like you AT&T & DIRECTV has clearly sent the message that we are not important. @Catskills_Dan has posted several resources in the forums which are helpful.  So has @ElmerFudd79 and @ahwhite .  We had a great thread going with over 88 pages of concerned customers but it was  closed.

To be clear, DirecTV is not saying that Patriots are unimportant. Not all who watch are Patriots and not all Patriots watch it. But they are saying that no longer paying for OANN is worth any customers they lose over this.

Action being more important then some loss of customers, doesn't mean they are not important. A business has to weigh value of many factors. In this case, the decision was in favor of parting ways with OANN.

I do have to laugh and another thread about this. The big one had over 84 pages and thousands or comments.

I strongly suggest looking at all the streaming options such as VUTV+ on Firestick if you have good internet access. I got a Tivo Edge OTA system to do the DVR side. With an antenna there are many local channels FREE. I can save over $600 a year now that I also dropped DTV and another $500 a year by switching to patriot mobile.  Now the funny part is they are using the AT&T network so lo less service for less that half of the cost

I project those call centers to get USN tomorrow with a lot of upset customers. Hopefully they don’t fall for bait and switch tactics.

@ProudPatriot as mentioned above, you will need to find alternatives soon.  Thought shutoff was April 4 but it's still on here. A postcard sent said OAN and AWE would be gone "after" April 4.  In my area, AWE is already gone but @Catskills_Dan is still able to view it.  Go to the OAN website for ways to watch it.  My setup is similar to @ahwhite but I still have my AT&T phone (for now).  My DTV will be shut off within the next 2 weeks as my dvr is 99% free now.  A bunch of us have had time to prepare for the loss of OAN, others won't miss it and still others will be shocked to not find it soon.

Looks like midnight EST was the cutoff.  Come on mods, ya gotta admit, it was pretty eventful in here for the past 2.5 months!

@Juniper -- Our world will never be the same if we allow Communists to take over! You seem to think we should roll over and take it, but they will never get away with that crap here. I'll be canceling my U-Verse subscription tomorrow and changing to Spectrum!! And it wasn't a "business decision!" AT&T caved to pressure from the Dems. They are taking away our right to free speech and free press!! It's a Communist ploy, but it will never work in America! They're just going to lose customers and billions and billions of dollars.  Lame (Edited per community guidelines).

My sentiments exactly! I'll be canceling my U-Verse su(Edited per community guidelines)cription tomorrow and changing to Spectrum!! I can't believe AT&T caved to pressure from the Dems. They are taking away our right to free speech and free press!! It's a Communist ploy, but it will never work in America! You're just going to lose customers and billions and billions of dollars.  Congratulations, you lame (Edited per community guidelines). And Juniper and anyone else who believes this to be a "business decision" better WAKE UP and realize that you're just a sheep being led to the slaughter. Don't be like the Germans who fell for (Edited per community guidelines)'s (Edited per community guidelines)!

This thread is more active. Shutting down OAN is censorship. I guess Elon Musk needs to buy AT&T so they will stop being woke.

@Leenjend

My point is as customers we do not have the right to mandate DirecTV keep or get rid of OANN. The decision is theirs in the end. Sure there may be outside factors that influenced it, but the final choice was their own. Freedom works both ways.

Nothing about "Free Speech" requires DirecTV to carry or not any given channel. People seem to forget that being a customer does not mean they own the company and dictate everything they do.

What "commitments" are you talking about? DirecTV has no commitment to keep OANN beyond the existing agreement. Now that it has ended, it is their right not to keep them any longer.

And when you return to Comcast will you yell at them for not having OANN in the first place? DirecTV gave OANN a try and just didn't work out for a continued business relationship...oh well.

If by "sport" you mean me, your "obvious" is completely wrong. I am not an employee of AT&T/DirecTV. Don't confuse your emotional feelings as facts.
