Anyone else have issues with AT&T not honoring contract price?

On August 19th I called AT&T to discuss my options for Uverse internet. My contract was expiring on the 17th of September. The customer service representative told me she could renew my contract for an additional year at my current rate. On September 25th I viewed my online statement to see my bill had increased by $36. After finally getting to speak with a supervisor, I was credited $36 to my account and told going forward for the remainder of the contract it would be at the discounted rate. Today I see on my online statement my bill is again increased by $36.

After over an hour on the phone and 2 supervisors, I'm told by David in the San Antonio office that I was misinformed TWICE on two different dates and my contract could not and would not be honored at the rate I had agreed upon with the previous representatives. He said all he could offer was his sincerest apologies and say the representative on the 19th of August and the supervisor on the 25th of September must not be aware of AT&T billing policies.

I am thinking a call to the public service comissioner is in order. Anyone else having issues getting AT&T to honor their contract price?

For the last 7 years I've received all that was promised me. I do however get a reference # but never had the need to refer to it.

I'm sure it's a misunderstanding or mistake and they'll work it out.

I have 4 reference numbers as well as the names and employee number of each person I've spoken with. It's not a case of a reference number, rather supervisors saying one then, then another. A company is bound by its agent - you can't offer a sincerest apology instead of honoring the agreed contract price.

Same thing happened to me. Call {Inappropriate content removed}. They gave me a statement credit to make up the difference for 12 months.

Thanks Francis for that number! Unfortunately, all they could offer was retraining of the representative and supervisor who "misquoted" my contract price and "didn't understand billing policy." So, I canceled my AT&T service. I can get a better speed at a better price with their competition.
