Uverse Accross the street, but not available at my address?

So, Uverse is available across the street with speeds up to 45 megs, but apparently I'm only able to get 6 megs?  Can somone explain to me how this is possible? I understand there is a range limitation to the speed i can get, but i am literally just across the street.  Not miles, just feet away.  I really dont' want 6 megs, because with that i'd rather just use my hotspot which is loads faster.

Don't get Uverse!

I changed to Uverse and now I cannot operate more than one PC at a time on line.

It's slow and is absolutly usless.

Uverse sucks bad.

ATT is transitioning everyone from DSL to Uverse.  You can't get it back.  It's in file 13.

From TOS:

Conversion from DSL to U-verse High Speed Internet. When AT&T is able to provision U-verse High Speed Internet Service at your location, we may, in our discretion, discontinue your DSL service and make available to you AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet at the then applicable U-verse rates, terms and conditions, which may differ from your previous DSL Service rates, terms and conditions (including Bundle Discounts). If you are on a Term Plan and your price will increase as a result of this conversion, you will not have to pay any applicable early termination fee ("ETF") if you elect to cancel DSL Service.

ATT has provided only 40-45% of ATT users w/UverseTV and internet (45-3M) on VDSL2, 30-35% users w/ ADSL2+ internet (18M-768K) for those beyond VDSL2 range and 20-25% of users will get no DSL of any kind.

ATT is using ATT wireless 4G LTE to provide internet services for those w/no wireline service available.
