Uverse rebates

Hi,

My uverse/phone issue was finally resolved in late September and I was one happy camper. When I initially agreed to switch from DSL to uverse internet (via online), the rep said that I would be receiving a $200 rebate for the equipment and installation charges. Does anyone know how long this normally takes for me to receive? It's been almost 3 months since it started working and almost 4 months since initial signup for the switch.

Thanks for any suggestions or insight into this,

Thomas

You need to go to this site Reward Center

Hi, thanks, so I went there and it says expired on 11/10/2014 as stated on the letter sent to me on 10/1/2014. I received no such letter. So this really s--ks. Would have been nice if the representative informed me to check here for the rewards as opposed to waiting for a card in the mail. So am I s out of luck on this?

If you look at the reward center page at the top there is a FAQ link.

Taken from there:

Q.I noticed my online reward has expired. Can I still claim my reward?
A.No. We apologize, but expired rewards will not be honored.

Thanks, missed it by 1 month, guess making it short is good for att. If only soneone would have told me to check online instead of waiting for the card in the mail like before. Oh well, another reason to not like how att operates. Win some and lose some. In my case its lose, no win yet. Hope to win one with att soon.

Another rant coming...

This all started on Aug 11 when I went into an ATT store to change my mobile from Blackberry to Samsung. Upon completion, he noticed that I was still with DSL and tried to convince me to upgrade. After about an hour, I finally agreed to upgrade (he didn't mention anything about rebates or promotions), we set up the install for Aug 18th. Aug 18th came and no one showed, I called ATT support and the rep said "the store rep did not click on final submit" so it didn't go through and since 7 days had elapsed, the install was null and voided. So the rep said she can set me up with the upgrade and there is a promotion rate along with a $200 rebate. I told the rep that I didn't want a new number and I wanted to keep my existing number, she said no problem, the tech that comes out will take care of that. We then set up a new appt for the install... 6 installs later, I had uverse but no phone. Each tech that came out said he will take care of it but none of them did and no one called me back with status/updates. I then did a "rant" here and lucky for me, David T responded and took care of my issues. It took over 2 weeks but it was finally completed (6.5 weeks later). Internet is a little bit laggy at times (weren't before) but acceptable I guess it's better than the other one. Each week, I check the mail for the rebate card but none came. Until this past week, after thinking that the forum was extremely helpful with my issue back then maybe someone can help me here. So today, I find that my rebate has expired. How does a rebate expire within a month of issue? If I had known to check rewardcenter.att.com then we'd all be much happier...

Shoulda come here after you got installed, we would've pointed you to the Reward Center to redeem your rebate.  You probably did get the letter, know mine was folded in 3rds and looked like junk mail.

Even though I caught the letter, after I redeemed my $200 reward, they cancelled it more than 20 times and had to get the RC supervisor to realize it was a mistake and got my $200 check 10 days later. Smiley Very Happy

Thanks Chris but I really expected att to just send me the rebate instead of me needing to sign in somewhere else to get it confirmed before getting it. Just a bad feeling from this ordeal is all. 1st the service is messed up, now the rebate is messed up, whats next? They cancel my service and then bill me? No laughing, they did that already when I had dsl. Next time I will know, it is not about the customer.

I really don't understand how ATT intends to have any customer retention.  I signed up for Uverse back in June '14 in part because of the promised $200 rebate.  I was more patient then I should have been apparently, because when I finally called them about it.  I was basically told I was out of luck, as the offer had expired. What the Heck? Oh, I needed to send in that phantom letter to claim the rebate that they supposedly sent to me. First of all, I did not expect this to be a two step process when they could simply issue the rebate. Secondly, I NEVER GOT ANY SUCH LETTER!.  Hate, Hate, Hate Uverse and their crappy customer service.
