U-verse versus DirecTV
Is it true that AT&T no longer supports U-verse? I have a basic U200 account. What is the equivalent DirecTV plan? Is it a hard thing to change over? Does it cost the same or less? This inquiring mind wants to know...!

DIRECTV technically owns U-verse TV service, but AT&T is still billing and supporting it. It has not yet gone away, for now you can keep it if you want to. That could change this month, next month, next year; we do not know. There are no direct equivalents for the U-verse packages in the DIRECTV or DIRECTV STREAM packages. I'd suggest you look for what you want in the packages they offer. What it will cost will depend on your situation.

We're happy to continue to talk about U-verse TV here.

Do you need hardware for DirecTV Stream or can you use your existing streaming hardware like Fire TV, Roku, etc..? They show a Gemini device on their web site so I'm not sure if that's something needed if you already have a compatible streaming device.

DIRECTV STREAM has the option of using the Gemini, their proprietary box with a more traditional TV remote, or your preferred streaming device (Roku, Firestick, etc.). I believe that DirecTV by Internet requires the Gemini.
Remember those two services are separate from traditional DirecTV which is by satellite and requires their specific equipment.
