After latest update all channels have a fog to them
Please help. All channels have a matte or hazed finish to them, like a loss of brightness.
This happened after the latest update of slight improvements to the recordings selections and menu highlights.
When I first turned on the d.v.r. there was no audio. A reset of the vip2250 fixed that but the "fog" remains. I did reset the gateway and even went through trouble shooting in the menu without a fix.
I know if I call ATT they'll just replace the dvr and I'll lose everything.
Come on gurus! What do you think? Does anyone else notice this problem? Help, please.

I have not heard of this issue, but is it only one 1 receiver? if so try reseating (unplug plug, back in) the cable from your receiver to the TV (HDMI, COAX, Componant), or try a hole new cable.

When we got the update, the TV receivers all reverted to the SD aspect ratio, which would make the shows fuzzy and the menu would contain less information on HD TVs. Did your "blue light go out?" Check your Aspect Ratio setting under Menu > Options and make sure it matches the native resolution of your TV.

Are you connected by HDMI or component cables? Try the other one to see if it persists. Good luck 😉

I don't know the type of tv you have, what hdmi setting you're using? low or normal. You can start with adjusting the contrast / brightness should help remove the fog or haze.

Not true, as soon as the 2250 reboots when plugged in, it will have the crushed blacks on HDMI. I know as mine did, had to use component. 😉

Point me to a link that proves it's been fixed, I have not read that it has.

The KC area got the update VERY early on, per @hpmsrm .

I'd do a hard reboot by unplug/plug in power after 30 seconds. Let us know if it worked, good luck.
Seemed to work here:
