big problem

The cable box in my room is the only cable box in the house that does not work.  What we are looking at is that the cable up here is stuck in firm ware.  I tried a factory  settings reset and i tried pressing the wps button on the modem and OK button on the cable box.  The reset would work for a minute then it would revert to firm ware.  i got the message:

account unavailable.  This set top box does not match the account settings.

Do you have other receivers and if so, do they work?  Does the DVR work?  You may just need a new receiver.

Call customer service. It sounds like you receiver needs to be associated with your account.
