DVR skip increments changed?
Were the forward and back DVR skips changed with the 2.4.29140.12 STB firmware update?
Mine seems to have gone from 20 seconds forward and 10 seconds back to 30+ forward and 5 back, which makes it very easy to go too far, then backing up is tedious.
For the sake of familial harmony, can this be fixed?

All I know I can hit FWD when the ball goes dead in football and it'll jump to the start of the next play. The same as it did b4 the update for me at least, I don't bother timing it. 😉

With every update the times have been fiddled with. My experince now is that it is ~30 seconds forward (which is nigh-on to perfect for skipping commercials) and ~7 seconds back (which is what it is... no complaints).

The skip forward time has changed on my boxes. It now will pause on a screen that it used to stop on, but then it moves 7-10 seconds forward from that and starts playing. The back skip button does seem to be slower than it was as I now have to skip back 2 to 6 button presses after the system goes too far forward.

The commercial breaks are too long for a skip button. Try using the FF button. As you get used to it multiple presses increase the flyby speed.
You can stop the flyby via the play, the jumpback or OK button.

For me, pressing the Forward of the Forward/Replay button now shuttles ahead and then jumps/skips ahead.Rebootting/restarting the DVR has no effect on "fixing" this bug.
Given some of the other replies in this thread, it would seem that the recent DVR update introduced a bug in some systems. It would be really nice if there was a way for us to be able to undo the changes and/or purge and reinstall them ideally from the DVR menu.
What would also be nice is if we would be notified of the availability of the the update and be able to choose when to have them installed or delay them until it is clear the updates are OK. We can do this with our computers. Why not our DVRs, too?

The jump/skip ahead has been that way for a while now(I believe a couple updates ago).
As far as being notified about updates, it's ATT equipment that you rent so they can do what they want when they want.

Not to mention that having evryone on a different version would be a service and logistical nightmare.
