Exchanging out a UVerse DVR

I spoke with tech support last night because any time I try to watch any movie On Demand the screen freezes and sound cuts out. The tech recommended that I exchange it at a local AT&T store, but when I called them they said they didn’t exchange those at the store and gave me some UVerse dispatch number which appears to be for employees.

Does ANYONE know how to exchange my UVerse DVR?!

The only way to exchange hardware is by calling 800.288.2020, have customer service confirm the need, then have them ship you a unit for replacement. You'll then be responsible for taking the old unit to FedEx or UPS for return to AT&T at no cost to you.

@EidolonDMM keep in mind you will lose any recordings in your old dvr

I would resist changing the hardware. Get att to ensure line quality is commensurate with the service you’re paying for.

Plan B is to start looking for a replacement TV service.
