how do I connect wireless U-verse DVD to a bridged router

I found steps for configuring a U-verse modem/ router into bridge mode. I have not, however, been able to connect my wireless U-verse DVD box to the network.  I followed the steps for restarting the dvr,  but it was not finding the network. Are there instructions for connecting the wireless dvr box to a bridged network?  Thanks

@msivicak - Well, the instructions would be in the DVD manual to use the wizard in the DVD or WPS.

But, you say it is not seeing the network. YOu have other devices that do see the network? If not, you are sure it is on & you know the name.

Why not wire it?

Yes, my laptop and tablet are able to connect to the bridged network wirelessly, so I dont believe its a network issue.  I would gladly connect via a wire if the ATT technician who installed the U-Verse would have run a wire to that box.  But he didn't....guess he assumed we would always want to connect wirelessly.

From my understanding the wireless receivers only connect to the WAP provided by ATT. In the future they may be able to connect to an rg wirelessly.

Post your DVD model & I will look at the manual.

Is your Tv/STB at the DVD location fed COAX? If so you can connect the DVD to the network jack on the STB. This connection is not officially supported but has worked for many for many years.

Well, just realized my spell check has been changing dvr to dvd.  Oops.  The issue is with my U-verse Cisco wireless dvr.

@msivicak - Good, that makss more sense,

Just for the record - a DVR cannot be wireless - The wireless box is an STB with DVR access. The DVR box is elsewhere - wired.

The bad news is the WAP must connect directly to the RG. Not another network. The wireless cannot be extended. To extend get a longer cat5 cable & find a better location for the WAP.

Thanks for your help but not sure I totally follow.

I have a Netgear wireless router which is wired to the u verse modem, downstairs in my house. No issue there.

The issue is with connecting an stb box upstairs to the Netgear wireless network.  Is that possible?  Another post said it was not possible but I just want to be sure.

The netgear wi-fi is for internet access only. It does not include TV. The wireless STB wi-fi is only generated by the WAP that is connected to the RG.
